About Meurig Hailstone (trading as Reel Time Sound & Video)

Trained and qualified in both music technology / sound engineering, and video production, Meurig has had an enthusiasm for sound and video technology (both old and new) from a young age and has since accumulated an impressive collection of tape-based A/V equipment spanning several decades, and is is experienced with technology ranging from analogue tape right up to the latest hard disk PC  based recording and editing.

Meurig’s self employed business (Reel Time) was Established in late 2003,  and opened a Recording Studio in Cathays, Cardiff.  After 18 years, it was time for a change of location, and to adapt to the changing times.  Joining forces with GTFM Radio, Pontypridd, a brand new transfers studio was set up at GTFM’s facilities in October 2021, and the range of services on offer greatly expanded, and now includes the transfer/digitising/archiving of a vast range of video tape formats alongside the existing sound-based transfer and professional music mastering services from the recently upgraded “Reel Time Sound Services” Mastering Studio in Llandaff North. These facilities can now support a wide range of both consumer and professional audio and video formats.
